Winter 2012 / 2013 Forecast ( Eastern North America)

 

Some good news in the long-term forecasts for any fellow weather geeks and snow-junkies out there.

 

November 2012
1st-3rd. Sunny to partly cloudy.
4th-7th. Stormy, especially over central and eastern ontario, where accumulating snow is possible, followed by clear and colder weather.
8th-11th. Light snow, then fair.
12th-15th. Continued generally fair.
16th-19th. Stormy for Great Lakes, followed by clear and much colder conditions for all.
20th-23rd. Fair at first, turning wet.
24th-27th. Mostly fair and cold.
28th-30th. Very unsettled, with heavy snows of up to 30 centimeters, especially over the Great Lakes.

December 2012
1st-3rd. Skies become generally fair.
4th-7th. Becoming unsettled.
8th-11th. A significant snowfall, especially over western ontario, is followed by fair and cold weather.

 
“Long Range Expert Joe Bastardi believes there is a significant chance for particularly frigid winters in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 into 2014-2015.  Bastardi said these winters could be similar to winters of the late 1970s”
